About Lone Star and it's organizers

Tena Morales and Scott Angelius have been actively growing the Texas scenes for over 10 years each - Tena in Houston and Scott in Austin. They founded Lone Star Championships in 2007.

From the organizers:
We are so happy to invite you to our 5th year! And honored that each year you choose to join us at Lone Star.

We've expanded yet again this year. Thursday night is now part of the event and there will be some additional workshops on Friday. We've also added a new trick contest that we are really excited about.

As always, our goal is to create an amazing party atmosphere. We plan the weekend such that the majority of the workshops and prelims to the competitions are during the day, so that the nights are filled with dancing to awesome live music with a few inspiring finals and performances mixed in.

Competition is very important to us. It brings us all together to cheer for each other, as well as to push each other to new heights. So we pride ourselves on creating a space for all Lindy Hoppers to compete - from newcomers who have never competed, all the way up to the top competitors in the world. That's why we have many levels of our contests.
