Contests
Jack and Jill
Jack and Jills are fun social dance competitions where you join as an individual. In the prelims, you will dance with
random partners and rotated in heats. You will be judged individually. In the finals you will randomly draw a partner
and be judged as a couple. The finals will be done in spotlight format.

Newcomer - $5 entry fee
Newcomer is for dancers who have never placed in a Jack and Jill competition and are relatively new to competing.
Intermediate - $10 entry fee
Intermediate is for dancers who have competed in at least a few competitions - potentially even at national competitions.
If you have placed in a competition, you must dance in this division.
Advanced - $10 entry fee
Advanced is for dancers who compete at national events.
All-Star - $10 entry fee
All-Star is for dancers who compete and have consistently placed in the top 10 at national or international level
competitions. You know who you are.
Invitational
Invitational is for dancers invited by the organizers. This is for dancers who have placed in the top 3 at national
contests such as Lone Star, ILHC, ULHS, WLHC, Camp Jitterbug, NJC or other competitions determined by the organizers.
Dancers professionally and consistently teach on a national and international level.

Strictly Lindy
In Strictlys, you will join with a partner and social dance. You won't know what music will be
played. In the prelims you will dance in heats and the finals will be done in jam-style format. You will be judged
as a couple in both the prelims and the finals.

Open - $20 entry fee (covers both you and your partner)
You may dance in the Open division as long as neither you or your partner compete compete frequently at national events.
Advanced/All-Star - $20 entry fee (covers both you and your partner)
You should dance in the Advanced/All-Star division if you and your partner compete frequently at national events.
Invitational
Invitational is for dancers invited by the organizers. This is for dancers who have placed in the top 3 at national
contests such as Lone Star, ILHC, ULHS, WLHC, Camp Jitterbug, NJC or other competitions determined by the organizers.

Our newest contest, the trick contest, is our only competition that we encourage choreography, tricks, aerials, etc.
In this contest, you will be judged highly on the diffuculty of your tricks, execution, and your ability to dance in
and out of them.

Advanced+ - $10 entry fee
Audition: you must audition to be in this contest. You may audition by emailing us, submitting a video, and showing
up on Thursday night to show us your stuff.
Finals: the chosen dancers will dance in a jam format to live music.

In the Strictly Blues, you will join with a partner and you and they will social dance. You won't know what
music will be played, but it will be slower blues music. In the prelims you will dance in heats and the finals
will be done in jam-style format. You will be judged as a couple in both the prelims and the finals.

Rock out some solo charleston! You'll dance in a heat and be "tapped in" to the finals!
