Peter originally learned to dance almost exclusively on the dance floor, but has since studied under the biggest names in Lindy Hop. He teaches regular classes with the Lindy Movement in Minneapolis, of which he is a founding member. At the American Lindy Hop Championships, he was the Classic Champion in 2000 and third in Showcase in 2001, and has consistently placed high in national competitions. He has taught workshops throughout the U.S. as well as in Sweden, France and Singapore. Peter is driven by his love of social dancing and works to create an easy flow with the music and between partners.

Melody Sturdivant

Melody started dancing salsa in Baltimore in the late 90's. When she went home to DC she decided to try something different. Melody's first contact with Lindy Hop was in 1998 when she took a weekend of workshops at George Washington University at their first Inter-Collegiate Swing Dance Competition. She later went on to take classes for a few months at GW before taking a break of almost two years. After rejoining the world of Lindy Hop in 2000, she went on to discover a love for West Coast Swing as well. She even occasionally dabbles in Balboa and Carolina Shag from time to time. She has competed and won Jack and Jill contest at various events such as ALHC, NADC and ULHS. After 18 years in the world of dance she stills loves the classroom as much as the social dance floor. Melody will bring her great energy and unique style of humor to ILHC in her first year as MC!
